Day 87: Singapore

Another country, another pool.
It seems the wind is hiding from me.
Even shadows were being evasive with a cloud clad sky.

Tuesday 15 August 2017

Day 86: Somewhere over the Java Sea

On a plane before light this morning,
heading to Singapore via Sydney.
The only possible video was the view out the window,
as I arrived at my destination after dark.

Day 85: Shelly Bay, Wellington

A quick stop today on the Shelly Bay Road,
on my way to view a possible art studio.

Day 66: Kakaku, Northern Territory

Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory.
Under the surface is the realm of the crocodile.
I was told not to lean over the edge of the boat to
video the water as crocodiles love to jump and grab,
especially a tasty hand or two.

Day 59: Brisbane, Australia

This isn't my official one minute video for the day,
but the beauty of the landscape I saw from my flight
from Brisbane up to Airlie Beach could not be dismissed.
The sun was shining on my side of the plane so
the vibrancy of the colours was not recorded well.

Day 47: Oriental Bay, Wellington

"I alone cannot change the world,
but I can cast a stone across the waters
 to create many ripples."
— Mother Teresa

Thursday 6 July 2017

Day 46: Oriental Bay, Wellington

Still very little wind in Wellington, but always lots of noise.
I couldn't resist stopping and recording this little
tet-a-tet going on between two seagulls.
I just wish I knew what it was about.

Day 35: Pencarrow Coast Road, Eastbourne

I biked along the Pencarrow Coast Road this morning from
Eastbourne to the Pencarrow Lighthouse
before the rain set in at lunchtime.
The video to me is ho-hum but that's what I did today.
Hope I do better tomorrow.

Day 34: Wellington Waterfront

A mistry day in Wellington with no wind
and a light drizzle.

Friday 23 June 2017

Day 33: The Wall, Lyall Bay

As soon as I ventured outside the phone lens blurred
which meant I simply sat in the car, dreaming a holding
a waterproof camera that would go with me out
and brace the storm on The Wall at Lyall Bay.

Day 27: Mt Victoria, Wellington

Another beautiful day in Wellington with no wind.
Even at the top of Mt Victoria, I could only find
the slightest of a breeze to record.

Friday 16 June 2017

Day 26:Oriental Bay, Wellington

Absolutely no wind in Wellington today
so I was pleased to find some rhythmic movement
in the water in front of the Oriental Bay Band Rotunda.

Thursday 15 June 2017

Day 25: Waterfront, Wellington

The Dance of a Thousand Blades.
I could video the selection of grasses and
flax that surrounds the back of Te Papa every day.
Now I'm waiting for rain.

I'm a quarter the way through this project and I have so much to explore. Not sure if I want this project to finish. I have placed parameters around what I can video because there is so much potential. Hence
[1] I must stay still
[2] The subject is the rhythmic movement in nature
[3] Birds are added as light relief

Wednesday 14 June 2017

Day 24: Oriental Bay, Wellington

Kelp washed up on Oriental Bay beach this morning.
I wonder how far it had traveled, before being beached.
High tide will no doubt carry it back to the currents
where its journey can continue.

Tuesday 13 June 2017

Day 23: Wellington Water Front

Harakeke: The central leaf movement reminds me of
Len Lye's kinetic sculpture, Blade

Monday 12 June 2017

Day 22: Te Papa, Wellington

The wind has finally arrived so I'm now able to start exploring the beauty in the movement to plants.

Day 2: Mt Roskill Memorial Park Stream

Love this stream with its endless opportunities to record the rhythms of running water.

Monday 22 May 2017

Day 1: Mt Roskill Memorial Park stream

A sunny day and what better way to start this project than with one of my favourite subjects: water.

To pause at, to be still for a minute and record the movement of nature.
